Bloggus Interruptus...

Oh. My. Cod.
It has been so long since I has been able to get to my bloggie! Let me tell you, this nurse-kitteh business is no joke. We has been having a great time at Mama's house though, and taking lots of pik-shers to show you all. Just gotta waits til my mommeh can help me get them onto the computer.
And that is not all! Guess what else has kept us busy? Apartment hunting! That is right, we has to move. My mommeh's dok-ter says she is getting the sickies from living in this apartment. He says there might be some molds in here from living verreh close to the waters and having no air conditioning to clear up the dampness. We has been here for a year and a half now, and her dok-ter has kept track of how often she has gotten the sickies and how badly, and he says it was not as frequent or extreme before we gotted into this place. Hearing this made my mommeh verreh worried, not just for herself, but for me and BA as well. She does not want us to get the sickies too, and is worried that we are also breathing in whatever is giving it to her! The landlord here is verreh nice, but a little negligent in "getting around" to fixing things. So rather than ask him to have the place inspected and fix whatever the problem is, we has to decided to just pack up and go. I can not tell you how excited me and BA are about the new apartment! We finally finded the purrrrfect place this week, and mommeh put some of the deposit down, and it is ours for September 1st! Take a look at the difference... This is where we live now, in a studio:
As you can see, it is cramped. The only +'s to this apartment are the separate laundry room with storage space, and the jacuzzi bath. Okay, now this is the new place:
Now. These were both drawn by my mommeh, who as you can sees, has NO IDEA how to draw things to scale. But you hopefully gets the impression. (The navy blue rectangles sticking off the walls are windows.) The new kitchen is totally humongous, sooooooooo much more room for Culinary Thursday antics! (Plus my mommeh says she is tired of cooking in her bedroom, heehee.) We also has a separate living room which is fairly sizeable, and a decent bedroom too - which is not as big as it looks in the drawing, but again that is my mommeh's fault. If I remembers right, the kitchen is 15x20, living room 15x16, and bedroom15x10. So actually that is the smallest room even though she made it look the biggest. The living room has a large storage closet, the hallway has a coat closet and a linen closet, and the bedroom has a decent closet for clothing. So this apartment costs more green papers, and it does not have laundry facilities or a jacuzzi tub, but we will have so much more room to run and play, and more windows to keep fresh airs circulating, and there are ceiling fans too. For a while my mommeh will just do our laundrys at Mama's house, and when we has saved up some green papers we will gets a portable washer/dryer combo. And my mommeh will just have to deal wif a regular bathtub. She has been spoiled! In any case, we are verreh excited and can not wait to starts packing. As you can see, there is just not enough room here...

  3. We're very excited for you all, Audrey! 15x10 is a good size for a bedroom, actually, at least by standards here. It'll be great fun to have more room to run around in--you can have a better game of THoE!

    Congratulations!

  5. Attie! Do you know what moving and packing means? Lots and lots of boxes for you to play in! I can tell that you are excited about the move, but aren't you even more excited now? I hope your Mommy gets better too and doesn't get sick anymore in the new place? Would there be any room to grow fresh catnip outside at the new place?

  12. How fun! A new place to explore, get your smells on, and call "home".

We notice you Mom did not mark out the new Kitty Domain(s) in the new apartment. We hope this was merely an oversight on her part. (We understand, our Mommy is quite the "artist" herself.)

We're really glad you posted, we missed you!

  14. Hi Attie! Tell your Mommy that if she grows it in a little pot where there's plenty of light, she can grow fresh catnip for you. She could even have a little indoor herb garden on a window sill. DM and LB can go through a whole stem of fresh nip so let her know that if she has it where you can get to it, the plant will probably only last a week or so if you end up being a nip addict!

  15. Concats on the new place!!! Very exciting and looks much roomier as well! Mom says she understands about not liking to cook in the bedroom sometimes after she cooks she gets tired of being in the living room as well..our downstairs like our upstairs is pretty small so when she cooks the smell is all in the living room and after eating she just doesnt want to smell it anymore.

  17. It seems like your mommeh is very excited about finding a new apartment! It looks much more spacious indeed -- and there's lots and lots more windows, which is wonderful for you kitties. I hope the move does the trick and that your mommeh feels better afterwards.

It might be a little scary for you girls at first, but there's nothing to worry about. You will love it.

Yes, I see that Audrey has to be everywhere that you are Attie. I'm surprised she doesn't ride you piggyback!

  18. This sounds like positive, exciting news. Only about 6 weeks from now and you will move!
Lots of fun with the boxes and everything, and hopefully it will improve your Mom's sickies. Molds can be very allergic for some people.

  29. Oh concatulations on your new home! It looks just wonderful and it will be good for you and Baby Audrey to have more rooms to play in (she looks like she's getting big!)

You'll have more room to play Thundering Herd of Elephants too. It's hard to get up a good head of steam in a studio ;-)

  30. Concatulations!! Hoping you really enjoy the new space. Lots of room for kittehs. Tell mom to be careful. "Stuff" can be sneaky. When you get more room, "stuff" tends to move in and then, mysteriously, you're all cramped again. Trust us, we learned the hard way! :-)

  33. Oh, how neat. Jan spent a number of years living in a studio apt so she understands. This rental house might be small and in need of repairs, but she was so happy to move in and to be able to have all of us, including the woofies. We will all have our paws crossed the move goes smoothly and you all love your new place when you move.
