Since mine romantikal boyfriendcat has run off to Teh Bridge, I has just been trying to gets mineself together and, after grieving, I is finally starting to get back to a little normality. But truthfully I has been spending most of mine days since his passing in a bit of a depression:

It will takes a verreh long time to gets over teh love of mine life, but I know'd what I was getting into by falling so hard for a senior mancat... I just thoughted he would be older when he wented to Teh Bridge. It was too soon, but it was what was best for him I see, riddled wif hidden cancers as he was. But I knows that, as a young ladycat, he would wants me to enjoy teh prime of mine life. And so I shall picks up and try to move on, but he will be in mine heart foreber.

Review: Mr. Chewy!

We recently hadded a nice talk wif Brent, from Mr. Chewy. He gaved us teh oppurrrrrtunity to receive some products from teh site and review. Woo-hoo, we luff reviews! So we wented to Mr. Chewy's site and ordered 2 bags of our foods (Nature's Variety, Instinct) and one bag of our litters (World's Best Cat Litter). Not only was teh ordering process easy, teh prices are good. We does not knows what you all might pay for your foods, but at teh specialty store where we has to gets ours, teh prices are through teh roof. Aside from teh decent pricing, Mr. Chewy offers free shipping on all orders over $49, which is pawsome. We just wanted to try out teh site one time, but after discovering such a gem we is planning to go back to it for all our foods and litters now. Every couple months we will just orders $49 worth of our faborite fings and takes advantage of teh free shipping, and we will end up paying a lot less than what we has to pay buying from our local pet specialty store. Plus, no making mommeh go out in teh cold darks after her long work day - hooray for more snuggle time by teh fireplace instead! So we placed our order that day, and guess when teh box arrived on our doorstep...? Teh very next day! Yeah! They shipped it out so fast we did not eben has time to get hungry first, MOL. Teh foods arrived and we inspekted it of course, and found that it was not old and gross like some major online warehouse retailers sell you, it was nice and fresh and yummylicious. We is currently working our way through a bag of turkey and duck, and let me tell you, we does loves it. They also offer healthy treats, which we will look through, and try some next time we order. Mmmm, mommeh, is it time to order those treats yet???

Well kittehs, we is in teh new house. More or less. Like we is in, but teh stuffs is EVERYwhere. Will be a while to gets us totally organized we finks but so far we loves it here! There is no loud noises from awful neighbors to scare me, and since this is a two-bedroom house we has our own room which is completely pawsome. We also has a big yard for summertime where we will go out on leash and harness and swing wif my mommeh in teh big huge ham-mick she plans to get when it gets warmies again. We loved hearing what all you guys thoughted about what we should calls our room - espeshully liked Cattie Cake Palace and Teh Princess Parlor. But to be honest, so far it is just getting called Teh Cat Room. That has no flair, mommeh. Borrrrringggg.

Here is teh verreh last pikshers we take'd in teh old apartment, teh day after Fanksgibbing when my mommeh came'd home from relatives and broughted us our turkey! Purrsonally, Audrey and I could has done wifout teh styrofoam plate, but my mommeh had packed up teh kitchen and said "no more dishes to wash, ladies!"

Oh hai everybuddy! I knows I has not been on teh bloggie in way too long, but I has a good reason. Come joins me in teh heatie bed and I tells you.

In honor of our 200th post today, we has a announcement to make concerning why we has not been blogging: we has all been verreh busy here because...... we is moving! (Yes, AGAIN.) We thoughted we would be in our current apartment for a while, but it turns out we has hadded quite a stroke of good luck and we is moving onward and upward! We only has a few more days to throw everyfing into boxes and gets teh furniture and ourselfs readeh to go - teh big move is this coming Saturday the 26th, right after Turkey Day. We is stressed, but super excited, accause..............wait for it..............in our new place we will has.................wait for it some more................OUR OWN ROOM! Yes, me and Miss Cake will has our verreh own cat bedroom. We is finking about calling our room Teh Princess Parlor. What does you guys fink? Oi vey and oh my cod. Do not panick peoples, we is alive! It has been sooooooooo long since we has been able to get to teh bloggie. Things has been just crazypants over here. Srsly. Not a joke. Crazypants I tells you. After teh Hurry Cane, my mommeh gotted all sickies and needed surgery on her ladygarden. That take'd a while to get her better from, but we was excellent nursekittehs. And then last week when she finally felted betters, she hadded anover emergency, this time wif her throat, that will require ANOVER surgery just after teh new year. So needless to says, we was once again efficient and watchful nursekittehs.

Howeber, we has had rather enuff of this nonsense for a while. We did NOT gets to open our Catmas in July prezzies from Luna, Zulu, and Mercy. We did NOT gets to open a surprise package we gotted from Auntie Lupie, Lucky, and Spidermeow. We has NOT been getting our raw meats. We has NOT been able to visit our bloggie furrends. And most importantly, I had NOT been able to spend any romantikal time at all wif mine mancat love, Lolo. Furrustrating. Verreh furrustrating. I can not truly blames my mommeh for this, I knows she has been sick... But I blames her anyways.

And now for teh worstest piece of news. Not only does we already has all that to catch up wif, we is getting LEFTED soon. Mommeh is off to Thailand for 10 days on Sept 30. (Hopefully we will get in a lot more bloggie time before then.) True we will has excellent care during her absence, but come on, after all this... realleh?!

My mommeh is packing us up and we is headed to Mama's to spend teh weekend and be safe in teh basement there if need be. (We does not has a basement.) We is staying calm about it so far, but we hear this Hurry Cane will realleh smack Long Island verreh hard. They is opening up Hurry Cane shelters and asking people to prepare for possible evacuations. So we is getting readeh for teh worst, eben though we hopes teh worst will not be teh case.

You may has noticed that our last post was Thursday June 9th. Well on Friday June 10th our computer pooped out. My mommeh is sooooooooooooo maddies. Two month old Macbook Pro should not just poop out for no reason. So on Saturday we sented her off to teh Apple store and she waited there three hours before finally being told we needs a new hard drive. (Hisssssss!) Apparently we just received a dud drive in our machine, it had been faulty from teh beginning and was only a matter of time until it went kaput. They is replacing it for frees, so we is trying not to complain too much, but it is super stinkies to be wifout a computer til it is fixed. They say it should be done by teh end of this week but who realleh knows wif these things? So we is hijacking anover computer for this post.

Anyways, look what we did:

These pikshers was take'd on two different days, and it looks like two different culprits, doesn't it? We is not telling who did which poop where, or why, and we has my mommeh totally buggin. All we can says is she discovered these after coming home from being gone FAR too long on two separate occasions. She is not happeh we is pooping next to and on top of teh litterbox, instead of in it. This has neber happened before. But we has our reasons. Or so we tells her.

My mommeh likes to eat avocados wif a spoon. When she is finished, she puts teh shells down. That is when Miss Cake knows it is her turn! She likes to lick teh avocado shells when they is almost empty. (Do not worreh, we has hear'd rumors that avocado is bad for kittehs, but our v-e-t says it is only if we chews on teh seed, that a little bit of teh green "meat" will not hurts.) Purrrrsonally, I does not know why she likes this freaky green stuff that turns brown if it sits in teh air for a few minnits, but she has been a little weirdo since day one.

Today we hadded a post all readeh to go... until we saw this. Chrystal runs her own small rescue wif teh assistance of her daughters. They works hard to halp innocent souls, victims of abuse or neglect or just plain bad luck. This is teh latest drama over there, and drama it is. These poor kittehs. We finks these people should be in jail. Rescue - Fifteen Cats and Kittens

Without giving a lot of detail about “who”, here is how we have ended up with nine sick kittens, and unaltered adults still to figure out about. Older Daughter went to “hang out” with a friend she had virtually lost contact with over the last three years. Older Daughter pictured herself and the friend going to the mall and maybe to dinner, looking at cute guys and doing some shopping. What happened instead was that she stepped directly into a nightmare.

I won’t give the details of the living arrangements. I will let you use your imagination as to what the property was like. What I WILL tell you is that when my daughter arrived at the property, she was shocked at how her friend was living.   There were sick cats and kittens everywhere. She said she started having that swimmy feeling as she quit hearing what was being said to her and her eyes locked onto kitten after kitten. She discovered that the kittens had hundreds and hundreds of fleas. Some couldn’t see because their eyes were sealed shut. She picked up one kitten after another and most were absolute skeletons. There were two female adult cats indoors that were too skinny to have properly fed their litters. Older Daughter asked about the total number of adults and was told there were three females inside and three males outside. Obviously, they regularly mixed. My daughter asked if any had been spayed or neutered. No.

The clear goal became how to get out of there with the kittens. Her heart was racing and she was overwhelmed. She texted her sister so as not to have an “outloud” conversation with one of us. Younger Daughter began to relay messages to me through her texts from her sister. Older Daughter texted that the shelter might be able to take some of the kittens, but would NOT be able to take any of the adults. (She wasn’t even sure they could take any of the kittens.) She would try to talk her friend into letting her take the sickest ones. The friend agreed, but Older Daughter started feeling panicky about leaving ANY of them behind. At some point, the friend’s boyfriend arrived and met my daughter. Because she was talking about the kittens, he said - The yellow -&-white one died. My daughter’s friend said - Oh, no. When? He said - Oh, earlier today. That was it. My daughter wasn’t leaving without ALL of the kittens. She was secretly texting to Younger Daughter all the while. Younger Daughter and I got busy. We cleaned and prepared a cage. Before long, Older Daughter called. I’m on my way - she said. I have ALL of the kittens. But what do we do about the adults left behind? In a matter of weeks, this very situation will be re-running.

Everything got blurry around the edges for a while. Younger Daughter and I were flying around, preparing for a huge load of kittens, wondering how sick they were and how many would fall to the yellow-&-white one’s fate. Older Daughter was making her way home with two cardboard boxes of flea-infested kittens. Un-altered adults were left behind. Older Daughter had been in touch with the shelter. They are overloaded with kittens right now, but might be able to take some if they get some placed. The adults they simply could not take - ever. They are severely over their maximum numbers because of all of the flood victim kitties that recently came in. Adult cats simply do not get adopted. They could not help us with those.

When she got home, Younger Daughter ran out to meet her. We got the two boxes unloaded into a cage. The kittens couldn’t stop scratching because they were crawling with fleas. Yet three of them barely moved they were so weak. We decided to try baths, but the first kitten we bathed was so frightened (and the fleas were too numerous), so we abandoned that idea. They were too young for anything but Capstar, so I started weighing them and the girls started giving the proper dose to each. Then the girls started bathing eyes to gentle open them.   Antibiotic drops in the worst of the eyes was next. While the girls worked on eyes, I started fixing food and warming kitten formula (which I always keep on hand). We thought the kittens were old enough to eat dry kitten food. I put out the superior-quality food that Virginia had recently sent to me. Some of the kittens raced to the bowls, growling and trying to push others away.

The kittens are of so many different sizes that it appears these are kittens from four or five litters. The friend told Older Daughter that there were three litters. But we have one kitten that is twice as big as the others - she looks to be about two months old. There are a couple of kittens that are next in size - maybe six weeks old (but oh so skinny). Then there are four kittens that are all about the same size, maybe only a week or so behind the two. A little gray-&-white, the only one of that color, is so small I would guess four weeks. And the last one is so tiny that it is just impossible to believe that it is walking around. It is the tiniest kitten I have ever seen - bone thin and in the worst shape of all. I know it surely has to be at least four weeks old, but there must be something wrong. Even if it was the runt, it is SO much smaller than all of the others that you can hardly wrap your mind around it. This one’s eyes re-seal after every round of drops and almost immediately after bathing them open. And it doesn’t eat so I am feeding it with an eye dropper.

The condition of some of these kittens is as bad as I’ve seen (and I’ve seen some pretty bad things).   The most shocking thing is their weight. They had access to momma cats, so all I can think is that the moms were not producing enough milk. I have been formula-feeding the tiniest one (now named Dearest), but I discovered last night that two others are not eating. They are bigger than Dearest, but for some reason won’t eat. So I have started formula with them, too. The flea situation is now under control. The Capstar got rid of the masses of fleas. Because of the massive infestation, all of the kittens are anemic. The only one we couldn’t use Capstar on was Dearest. She is so tiny, there isn’t even a dosage for her size. And she is so weak that we didn’t dare stress her with a bath. So we are picking fleas off of her.

Yesterday, I said I might need you, CB. And I got comments on the blog and many emails - all with the same message - “How can we help?” You all have been so good to us here that I told a friend in an email that I didn’t want to ask for help. Here is what she said in return -

I realize that the CB has already helped you and you are hesitant about asking for more help, but as a member of the CB I can tell you that this type of situation and the fact that you're there to help is exactly the type of situation the CB is there to help with. I can't speak for the other members, but we're all in this particular group because we love animals, and obviously these animals need our help too. You're on the front lines fighting for the lives of souls that we all hope we can save, so I don't think you should fight alone. Those of us who are not directly involved in a rescue group but wish we could help, can help by donating to or adopting from you and people just like you.

As she said - she can’t speak for the CB, but she sure did make me feel better with her words and that sentiment. In comments and emails, people are asking me how they can help. So I’m just gonna say it. We’re on our own with this one. The shelter where my daughter is employed is in the middle of a funding crisis and way over their numbers on animals. To do this right, we need to get the six adults from that property or there will be three more litters and then three more and then three more . . . .            We have nine kittens. I am hoping beyond hope that the shelter will be able to take the kittens (or at least some of them) when we get them healthy again. The shelter is currently over-run with kittens and will have to get lots of those adopted out first. My daughter said that her friend’s boyfriend said they want to get down to ONE cat. I’m worried about what that means in terms of the fate of the six adults there. Some of you suggested spay/neuter and release. That is definitely an option as we cannot move FIFTEEN cats into our cathouse even with the addition of Winnie’s Room. But if these people are going to take any of these cats off to be dumped somewhere, then I will have no choice but to take them. Not speaking to the needs of the kittens at all, the cost to spay & neuter the six adults will run right at $600. I will set up a chip-in just in case any of you can help financially. I will only do this because so many of you have told me I should.   The other thing is homes. I was going to do a big push this coming week on the blog to try to get some of our remaining cathouse gang into homes so we could make lots of room for the inevitable. But the inevitable got here sooner than I had planned and in numbers I never could have predicted. So if any of you can find a spot in your home for an additional cat or kitten, that would be the greatest gift of all. If you know of a home other than your own that would adopt a new kitty member, just please remember that we want ONLY amazing homes - indoor homes where kitties are family members, not just pets. I thank you in advance for any effort you are willing to put into this endeavor. And please keep the prayers and positive energy coming for the health of the kittens. At least three of them are struggling. Dearest is hanging in the balance. I want this group to follow in Gabriel’s footsteps and not follow the path of Elfius. Thank you.

Audrey's Furs

Oh. My. Cod. Miss Cake and her furs is out of control. There is black furs stuck to EVERYfing in teh apartment because of teh recent heat/humidity. Shedding season is upon us and she is realleh on top of it! I hardly sheds a hair, ever, so my mommeh was not expekting this when she broughted Audrey home. Check it out, two brushfuls of furs! And this is just from today. My mommeh brushes this kitten like crazy every day and she has been getting this amount on teh brush for teh past week.

I does not knows what teh complaining is all about.

Culinary Thursday: Chick-Hen Piccata On A Bed Of Sauteed Spinach and Toasted Pine Nuts

Oh hai furrends, here I am in teh kitchen! I realized we has not hadded a Culinary Thursday post in quite a long time, so here is what I make'd for dinner tonight - a chick-hen piccata dish over a bed of sauteed spinach and toasted pine nuts. And I must says, it was deeeeeeeee-lish!

Get your simple seasonings out. Salt, black pepper, and your favorite complete seasoning.

Use thin-cut chick-hen breasts (we likes Perdue, they comes in a package that says "great for scallopini" cause they is skinny), and sprinkle your seasonings lightly onto each side. Tip for this dish: do not rinse teh chick-hen when you removes it from teh package, just go right for it!

Plop into a container of flour, cover, and shake!

You will ends up wif a pile of chick-hen looking like this.

Heat olive oil in a pan wif just a touch of minced garlic, and fry away.

Cook until golden.

Mmmmm, chick-hen pile!

When all your chick-hen is cooked, set it aside. Wifout rinsing, fill teh bottom of teh pan wif white wine. This is called de-glazing. (Ooooh yes, you is fancy now!)

Squeeze in lemon juice to taste. (We likes it verreh lemony.)

And grind in some fresh peppers.

Cook on high until verreh reduced, then add in about 3 tablespoons of butter.

It finishes looking like this. You can strains it if you wants to, but we just leaves it, it's great how it is.

Pour teh sauce out and set aside. Briefly rinse teh pan now, and dry wif a paper towel. Get it back onto teh stove on low heat, wif olive oil in teh bottom. Put your fresh spinach into teh pan, and turn/stir until it is cooked down nice and soft.

In another pan at teh same time, you can toast your pine nuts.

Use a dry pan (that's verreh important) and keep teh heat on low/medium, stirring often to keep teh pine nuts from burning. You wants them to brown, but not too much.

This looks good to me!

Now, assemble! Make a bed of teh spinach wif some of your toasted pine nuts over it, a piece of chick-hen on top, teh sauce poured over that, and a few more pine nuts sprinkled over it all as teh crowning glory.

Nommy, nom, nom!!!

But do not puts yours on a paper plate, MOL. Looks nicer on a pretteh plate, but my mommeh said "enuff wif teh dirty dishes to wash!!!" I says it is not MY fault we has no dishwasher. Isn't that what she is there for? Sheesh.

A glass of teh same wine you used for teh sauce will make a lovely accompaniment. Oh mommeh, dinner is readeh...!

My little sis-ter is a dinner theif. My mommeh forgotted (again) to defrost our rabbity dinners in teh fridge today while she was at Teh Work Place, so when she gotted home she putted teh dinners in a zippy bag and into a pot of waters to defrost fast. Well. SOMEONE did not wants to wait. My mommeh hear'd a colossal crash from teh kitchen, and grabbed teh camera to come investigate, and aside from waters all over, this is what she see'd:

And now we has to wait eben longer for our dinners, cause Audrey kept stealing it still froze'd, so it had to go in teh fridge.

My mommeh came'd home wif a surprise from teh mails! A fat package from mine Lolo, all teh way from teh Czech Republic. Just lookit all this stuff.

Check out this card that was inside! Lolo and Tiny's mommeh make'd it. I did not know she make'd art! I loves this bluebird, I wants to chase it... As for teh contents of teh card, I will not lets you see that, heehee, is private between a mancat and his ladycat. Let it suffice to says he is a charmer.

Well, my mommeh finally founded where I hided my old Good Girl Collar. And looking at it now, I says "old" is teh right word.

Teh one on teh top is my new GGC. Teh bottom one is teh old one. See how long it is? All that excess used to gets in mine way. And teh diamonds only go partly around, which was No Good. My new GGC is way betters! It has teh KittyKlip buckle, so it's shorter, and that also makes it possible for teh diamonds to go allllllllllll teh way. Just how I wants it.

My new GGC has only three rows of sparkle, instead of four like teh old one, but that is okay accause teh diamonds is BIGGER! And look how teh old one is falling apart, awww, poor old fing.

Now we can takes teh charms off teh old collar, and puts them onto teh new one! Here is mine cuppycake.

So then my mommeh tried to feeds her by hand and you all hear'd about that already, so she decided that was enuff of that. Teh next night, we ended up wif this scene:

*sigh* Such is teh craziness in my house. What is a ladycat to do? And yes, I was growling at mine rabbity dinner. Because obviously I is a wildcat, and I hunted that bunneh down and now he is FOODS!

Surgery Complete!

Wow, fank you all for your caring words and purrs, Miss Cake was truly touched to hear she has so many wunnerful furriends. Her ladygardenectomy went fine, but she is apparently not good wif anasthesia. She was still asleep for teh first two hours we was home, and when she wake'd up she was in a verreh bad mood indeed. She started running around like a crazypants, just careening headfirst into everyfing. She loudly demanded waters and foods, which we was told not to gives her til morning, but she would not stop screaming so my mommeh gave'd in and she got just a lot of waters and just a little dry Instinct crunchies. Wait til you sees her trying to get teh foods wif teh cone on her head - sad, but HILARIOUS. Since she was having such a hard time, my mommeh make'd teh mistake of trying to halps her by feeding her teh kibbles one by one, and talk about biting teh hand that feeds you, woo, Audrey put teh bitey on my mommeh like I has never see'd before. One top toof and one bottom toof all teh way through a finger. We thoughted we was gonna needs eben more stitches in this house last night, sheesh, but it finally stopped bleeding and now my mommeh says it is just realleh hurty. My sis-ter says she is sorreh about it now. She says she did not know what she was doing. Coming out of teh sleepies she just felt realleh wild and insane and could not controls herself, and since she had been deprived of foods and waters for 24 hours she thoughted she was starving to death and just violently tried to get any piece of foods she could. Now she is definitely more collected. She spent teh night trying to sleep sitting up in teh corner of teh heatie bed. (It is too hard for her to lie down wif that thing on her head.) She was verreh quiet and subdued this morning, extremely unusual for her, and she letted my mommeh take teh bandage off her leg from teh IV. And then she did somefing miraculous. She purred, and made biscuits!!! Now, making biscuits is a normal happeh fing I does all teh time, and most of you too, but Miss Cake has neber once make'd biscuits. Eber. Not a single time. So my mommeh almost cried at what must have been Audrey's heartfelt "fank you, mommeh" for removing teh uncomfortable bandage. My mommeh lefted her all set and snuggled in teh heatie bed today before she left for teh Work Place. It is my job to watch over her til she comes home. I do not minds keeping an eye on teh baby, howeber, I will admit I is completely afraid of that thingie on her head. When she gets near me wif it I growls and backs away. I fink it is hurting her feelings, but I can not halps it, I does not means to. So I will keeps a eyes on her from a distance today. We has pikshers and video but no chance to load onto teh computer yet so those will be coming soon, just wanted to post this update for all our furrends who left such wunnerful wishes for her!

Sorreh furrends, we has realleh been bloggie slackers lately. It is just we has been so verreh busy and so has my mommeh. First she was all heeking and snorking again, and then she hadded a snake in her hairs. (Do not ask, has just been insanity in our corner of teh world lately.) Anyways, we is sooooooooo behinds wif visits and comments and answering kwestions that we does not knows whete to begin. I remembers one kwestion has been sented in a lot recently, regarding our new foods. To expands on what was asked, we.does not get crunchies. We knows lots of you gets you meals, and a bowl full of crunchies out all teh time for wheneber you wants some. Howeber, we has been advized against that, being told "grazing" can lead to diabetes and other complikayshuns. So we eats just once a day, when my mommeh gets home from teh Work Place, and no snacks in between except treats when we is good girls. Audrey eats one raw medallion and she is full, but she is teeny at only five pounds, so she does not need too much and she does not has an appetite to speak of. (She acts like a starving stray at dinnertime, and eats voraciously for like one minnit, then wanders off and my mommeh has to walk after her sometimes to reminds her to finish her foods.) I eats one and a half to two medallions, depending on how I is feeling that day. I weighs eight pounds. We has thirty minnits for our dinner, and then our bowls is take'd away and that is that. This is all on teh advice of our holistic v-e-t, and is all going swimmingly. We knows our routine and we showd my mommeh all teh time how great we feels.

Now as for Miss Cake's ladygardenectomy, that happens tomorrow. She is not excited. Originally we had planned a laparoscopic surgery wif our holistic guy, but then we founded out he wanted almost two thousand green papers for it. Ummmm, YIKES. And unfortunately he only does laparoscopics so she is being packed off to a conventional v-e-t for a regular old classic ladygardenectomy. And they required her to has two vaccinayshins last week before they would book tomorrow's appointment, which you all knows my mommeh disagrees wif, but when faced wif this choice we did what we hadda. Cause we does NOT has two thousand green papers just hanging around teh litterbox or anyfing. And her surgery is necessary - any health reasons aside, she is all yowly and trilly and twirly and peed on my mommeh's knitting bag and faborit bafmat. So. You knows. Yeah.

So you will definitely all gets to see Miss Cake's embarassing pikshers afterward, and hears teh story of my ladygardenectomy that almost killed me, teh reason we wanted Audrey's to be laparoscpic, but that is all to come in teh next few days. Right now I is posting from a touch screen mobile phone, and you has no idea how long it just took trying to types this all out wif paws.

New ID Charms

Yes, it is definitely a time for new fings around here. Must has to do wif some warmer weather rolling around - we was even able to get in some window whiffing time recently! But anyways, my mommeh decided we need new ID's, just in case one of us falls out a window or somefing. Audrey has never hadded a ID tag at all, and mine was ugly and still said our old address. So we gotted these as a present, for just being good girls!

They is our favorite colors of course. Mine is pink, wif "Princess" and a crown on teh front, and my name, address, and phone number on teh back. Audrey's is obviously teh purple one wif her name on it, and the rest of her info on teh other side. We looks verreh glamorous wif our new tags. Audrey's goes perfectly wif her new topaz collar, and mine will looks even better on teh collar my mommeh has ordered for my 4th birfday in April. My Good Girl Collar is finally wearing out, so we has a replacement coming, but we putted teh new tag on my current collar anyways, just in case.

Okay so realleh it is just a verreh old two-tiered end table, but we likes to repurpose cool stuff around here if we can. You may remember it was what we was using to holds our teevee up, and we hadded our heatie bed unner it. Howevers, teh teevee is now holded on this:

Fancy now, no? Just FYI, my mommeh putted all that togever ALL BY HERSELF, which i fink is pretteh cool. And now we has a cool fake heatie fireplace for cold nights. Just looking at teh flames move is nice, but when that heater goes on, woo! Anyways, teh arrival of teh fireplace means our heatie bed gotted moved, and we is currently setted up wif that on teh end corner of teh couch:

Look at Miss Cake, all limbs, takin up all teh room. *shakes head* Teh fings I puts up wif. So now that teh two-tiered table has no use, we will repurrrrrpose it! My mommeh has putted it in teh kitchen and setted up our Brand New water fountain on top, and our bowls on teh bottom, and voila! New foods station! (Um, looooving our new fountain by the way, we just gotted it a couple days ago and we finally unnerstands why all our furrends raves about theirs.)

Plenty of room for little kittehs to climb up and enjoy teh premium fare.

My mommeh will paints it blue soon for us so it will match our Alice In Wunnerland themed kitchen, but for now this is what it looks like. Not bad huh? My mommeh likes that our foods is up off teh floor, especially now that we is eating raw. She's afraid we will gets ants in our bowls!

Going Raw, Day 7 - And our thoughts on raw diet after one week.

Day 7 now, and we tried mixing some stinky goodness in wif teh meat medallions. Well! Miss Cake simply scarfed her dinner down. Srsly. Was gone before I could eben count to elebenty.

And of course, I gotted some mixed wif mine as well, cause you knows you can not smells teh goodness and not gets teh goodness! So this seems to be teh best solution, fanks to all who suggested we try this! My mommeh only putted a spoonful of teh canned stink in wif teh medallion and mushed it all togever, so we is thinking every day or two just add a teensy bit less of teh stink til it is all medallion.

And now that we has been trying this new diet for a whole week, what do we fnks of it? Well aside from Madam Audrey's peculiar reluctance, we loves it. Even though she has not realleh been eating teh medallions, she has still been getting teh Instinct kibbles. Honestly, we finks this line of products is amazing, and no we did not gets any for free or get paid to say nice fings about it. We just realleh feels it is good for us! Audrey is a ball of energies, even more so than before. (Who knew that was possible?) Her furs is softer and shiner after just 7 days - she is sleek but has kinda wiry furs, or so we thoughted, cause now her furs are softer to teh touch and definitely feeling more plush. As for me, I is positively kittenish again! Now I knows I am no old lady by any means, but I just didn't realleh feel like playing much the last year or so. I lost interest in all fevver wands and games of fetch, and mostly just sat around and let Audrey play wif my tail. My mommeh thoughted it was just that I was finally all grow'd up. (I will be 4 in April.) But since I has been trying this new foods I is so much more alert and energetic, and I is back to begging to play all teh time, and ZOOMING around teh whole place, tearing it completely apart in my daring games and attempts to catch Miss Cake. This has my mommeh truly astounded so far, seeing as it has just been one week, and we waits to see what other changes this new diet might bring. Oh, and a note for teh beans - NO litterbox smell. That's right. Zero. On our old foods, you could smell a #2 from teh other side of teh house, and even after it was scooped the scent would linger. No more! Since this is so much easier to digest and it is all usable nutrition (as opposed to grains/fillers/etc) we now makes much smaller poops that have pretty much no stink. My mommeh is most thrilled about this part we fink, because it means no more doodie perfume in the middle of her trying to eat her dinner.

Going Raw, Day 6

I knows, I knows, you is all appalled about yesterday and my lack of meats! I tells you, my mommeh is a flake. But I suppose teh medallion denial was good for me, as it turns out I must resigns mineself to a meatless fate once a week. My mommeh stays wif Mama one night every week so we is on our own then, and seeing as how raw meat can not just be lefted out we will be getting teh Instinct kibbles in our bowls in teh morning before she leaves. Audrey will be happeh, but me? *sigh*

Well we is deciding to try some advice from you, our furrends, to see if we can get Miss Cake interested in teh meats. (Mmm, teh meats..) So today we take'd teh suggestion given by a few of you, to press teh kibbles into teh medallion, so when she wented for teh kibble she would gets meats too. Well...

Yeah so that was that. We wrapped it up in teh fridge and tried again later, wif about teh same amount of success. Eventually she make'd it through almost a whole medallion that way, but apparently did not enjoys it. Well, tomorrow we tries teh stinky goodness suggestion.

Going Raw, Day 5 (Someone is slackin. Jus sayin.)

We only hadded teh Instinct kibble today, on account of SOMEone... of course we will not says who... forgotted to defrost teh meats. Audrey did not cares, but I was looking for my meats! Now that I has had it, mine primal Bengalness demands teh meats!!!

Going Raw, Day 4

We does not usually post on weekends, we is weekday bloggers for teh most part, but we is trying to keep this transishun going smoothly, so here we goes on a Saturday wif day 4 of teh great experiment. (On day 7 we will does a week's end opinion and recap!)

Well my mommeh did bring Miss Cake into teh bafroom for her own private foods time, but she freaked out! She has never been stuck'd inside a room like that, and when teh door shut she abandoned any thoughts of foods at all and just started to cry and cry. We hadded to leave her like that for a while to see if she would stop and go eat, but she just cried louder every minute and eventually we hadded to go lets her out. Not a bit of her foods had been touched, and she ran straight to me for comfort, MOL. Little wuss.

EDIT: Later, my mommeh heard a noise at teh food bowl and wented to have a look. No time to grab teh flashy box, but there was Audrey eating a piece of chick-hen medallion! She only hadded about a third of it and then wented right back to teh kibbles, but it still made my mommeh hop all around doing teh happeh dance. Maybe she will comes around after all.

Going Raw, Day 3

I always pours her a glass of wine when she comes home from teh Work Place, but she hadded a realleh bad day so I may have give'd her MORE than one glass... Sorreh. But it is all teh record we has of day 3 so we has to shows it, MOL!!! Oh cod, here we goes...

Going Raw, Day 2

All rights, so, for our second day trying to go raw, we did pretteh much teh same as day 1. Old food mixed wif a bit more of teh new kibble this time, and today half a chick-hen medallion each. (Yesterday was beef.)

Trying to show wif teh camera, Audrey ignored teh medallion again and wented straight for teh dry food.

But after quite a long bout of sniffing, I decided to give this chick-hen medallion a try.... And I liked it! Okay, so day 2 is definitely a little bit betters. I am coming around, but we is wondering if Audrey will give in soon.

Going Raw, Day 1

Okay so here we go, we is beginning our raw/rotation diet! After much research, we settled on teh same brand Daisy and Harley eat, and sented my mommeh out to teh store. She got two small bags of raw frozen medallions, and a bag of the "matching" kibble. We is starting out wif teh basic flavors of beef and chick-hen, since all this is new to us, and we does not wants to get turned off by some strange exotic flavor at first.

For our verreh first try, we gotted our old food, a spoonful of teh new kibble, and half a beef medallion in each bowl.

I liked teh kibble mix, but decided teh lump of raw smushy stuff belonged on teh floor.

"...What!"

And notice that Audrey is nowhere to be see'd. One sniff of teh medallion and she wanted nothing to do wif her bowl. She did come back later to eats teh kibbles, but my mommeh ended up having to takes teh meat away. Well, we is not used to this! Maybe tomorrow we will change our minds.

First Visit Wif a Holistic V-E-T

Well I will starts by saying it was ALMOST as bad as a visit wif a regular V-E-T. I hates this stuff. I mean I really hates it. I put teh bitey on my last V-E-T. Hard. But he deserved it anyway on account of he make'd mine ear bleed. But more on mine ears later.

So we decided to starts up wif holistic care just for a healthful change and to gets a opinion on what we is planning wif our foods situation. I had not been to teh dokter for a while, and Audrey had not been since she was a baby, so it was definitely time. But my mommeh says she does not agree wif all teh vaccinayshuns and deworming medicayshuns and stuff required by most V-E-T's. For example, teh last place she tried to makes a 'pointment at demanded Audrey be dewormed even though she did not needs it, and also demanded we gets 4 shots each that we also did not need, and that made my mommeh verreh unhappeh. She finks it is putting unnecessary poisons in our little bodies! So she did some research and finally settled on who to takes us to, and oh cod, off we wented.

Trapped!

I loathes teh carrier. LOATHES. I always pees and poops in it, cause I gets so scared and angry about it, but my mommeh has noticed that since we gots Audrey, if she is in there wif me it it seems to calm me down just enough so I does not do that. So we wented in togever and "sang" teh entire way. Well realleh I is teh screamer. Audrey just copies her big sis-ter.

Ever teh fearless and intrepid explorer, Miss Cake took teh place over as soon as teh carrier door opened.

Meee... not so much. I is afraid of everyfing, and I spented as much time under a desk as I could.

My little sis-ter even came'd down to protekt me. She knows when I is upset and comes to mine aid.

Teh best fing to do is to hide in my mommeh's arms.

Getting smaller and smaller...

Until I's up to mine ears, like this. And that is ezackly how I stayed til teh assistant peoples take'd me away to clean mine ears. When that was done, I was akshully relieved to get back in teh carrier cause I know'd we was going home.

My mommeh was verreh satisfied wif our visit. We did not get forced or pushed to unnecessary injekshuns or medikayshuns, and teh holisitc V-E-T approves entirely of teh raw diet we is beginning this week. We hadded our weights taken, our teefs examined, our eyes looked at, our tummehs palpitated, our tempachers taken (ouchies, and ewwww). Then Miss Cake hadded her pre-op testing, for which they steel'd her bloods and peepees. She did not likes that, and she is embarrassed now by teh shaved patch on her back leg where they hadded to steels her bloods. She even hadded a sonogram to check that all her internals was in teh right spot so there would be no surprises on surgery day. Then my mommeh asked for my ears to be cleaned, which I always scream about, because it is No Fun. But she can not gets it clean enough wif a q-tip at home so they did it thoroughly there wif a herbal disinfectant solution, and I has to say, mine ears feel great. I has a tendency to build up gunkies in my left one, and then it becomes a infekshun, so we tries to keep on top of teh prollem. And this time, nobuddy make'd mine ear bleed. This place is obviously miles better than our last place. Everyfing is done as naturally as possible there, wif herbs, natural remedies, reiki, and diet being teh first lines of treatment. My mommeh is happeh that we will not immediately jump to potentially harmful medikayshuns unless needed.

Still, nokitteh likes going to any kind of V-E-T, and we showed our feelings appropriately. I was quite cranky wif my mommeh, and would not talks to her for a few hours afterward, until she gotted out teh heatie blankie and I reluctantly crawled underneath wif her and forgive'd her. Miss Cake also had a cranky for a while, cause of her leg, but she cheered right up after she was treated to a little ride.

Going Au Naturale!

We hadded our first visit wif a holistic V-E-T this weekend, to be sure we gotted off on teh right foot, and now we will be progressing toward holistic living. Yes, yes, we sure is fancy these days. Although it is verreh hard to gets her to slow down enuff for a piksher these days... She is uhmmm... Uncomfortable just now, MOL. To says it wifout saying it, we has to schedule her ladygardenectomy. Annnnnywayyyyy... Before any of you mancats gets any ideas, here is teh prezzie.

Product Review: The SunnySeat!

Over teh weekend, we hadded teh chance to review teh SunnySeat, a great new product! Here is a video of me and Miss Cake, bof trying it out. We did likes it! It was nice and warm in teh window, and we could be up higher than usual to see what was happening in teh outsideys. (sorreh teh video is dark, do not knows what happened there.)

So first we readed the 'strukshuns.

Then we spented a little sunpuddle time wif teh box it came in, just for good measure. (We hadded to take advantage of this sunpuddle, it was teh only one we has hadded all winter around here!)

Then we gotted down to busyness. Teh SunnySeat came'd in a few pieces. You can sees two sukshun cups here, that we attached laters.

And here you can sees teh seat and its wires/springs. Notice teh bottle of window cleaner - make sure you cleans your window AND all 4 sukshun cups of teh SunnySeat before you tries to attach to teh window! You do not want to has a weak seal and go falling!

These is what came'd already attached.

And at teh base of teh seat there is a hole on either side, like this, that you pushes those separate sukshun cups into...

Then it is readeh to attach. You puts teh seat on teh window first, then the wires.

Make sure you lets your adventurous little sis-ter tries it first of course.

When it seems she is not about to fall down (or explode, or anyfing crazy), you can go ups to join her and checks it out too.

A Vallentimes Surprise!

We wanted to post this earlier, but we is having some major prollems wif uploading pikshers onto teh computer. It seems we has used ALL our free space... Hm. Is a lotta kitteh! Must figure out some solution soon, but anyways, today we wants to show you teh pawsome surprise we gotted from auntees and her kittehs Molly and Gray for Vallentimes!!! It came'd in teh mails and my mommeh broughted it home and it was just teh fing to gives us all a smile.

Audrey's Verreh First Birfday!!!

Wowee, today mine little sis-ter Audrey Cake is one year old! I can not believes it. Feels like just last week she came'd home in a box, and I tried to eats her. May I reminds you of our first meeting?

But after that, fings calmed down, and now you all knows how much I loves mine sis-ter. Here is some shots of her when she was first gotcha'd, at 10 and 11 weeks old.

Hard to believe she was evar that smalls, no? And now she is a little ladycat. For her first birfday gift, my mommeh and me ordered her first Swarovski collar! It should arrives today, and then it will be officials.

Since she feels so spoiled wif that collar on its way, in leiu of a pawty, Miss Cake has simply asked for purrs and kisses from our furrends today.

Culinary Thursday: Lazy Tikka Masala

My mommeh is soooooooooooo sickies this week. She is absolutely disgusting, snorking up a storm and habbing teh flu, so we decided to takes it easy and makes somefing hot and satisfying, wifout a lot of work.

Tikka masala is easy wif this sauce. It is made by Patak's and you can finds it in teh ethnic aisle of your local grocery store most times.

Teh good fing about this ready-made cooking sauce is that most of teh hard stuffs is already did for you. Teh spices are in there, the cream, etc.

So all you does is start wif half a large red onion in some oil and lets it go for a bit.

Adds in about two pounds of raw chick-hen breast you has diced up.

Cooks until teh chick-hen is almost all white.

Then you adds in your sauce (we used 2 jars for 2lbs chick-hen, you only needs one jar per pound) and a bunch of cutted up baby tomatoes.

Cover and cook over low for 15/20 minnuts, stirring occasionally, and there you has it. Normally this goes over basmati, but we hadded some egg noodles lying around so we just spooned it over those and it was delishus.

Pee-Ess, this snorking and heeking of my mommeh's of course means ANUVER week where we does not get to do our Nom Shop orders. *sigh* It is getting to be truly unbelievable but we can not cooks for uver peoples wif germies. Also, we is finking of switching teh Nom Shop over to Etsy, our site hosting is getting to cost lots of green papers, so does anybuddy knows anyfing about selling on Etsy? We has been buying for a long time, but neber hadded a seller account.

Quiet Winter Morning Playtime

How many times can teh sky possibly shower down teh whitey on us?! Attie is embarrassed to post, so she leave'd it to me today. She says she feels bad, she keeps promising to get started on teh Nom Shop orders that has been pending for so long, and she say'd last week there was not any more whitey in teh forecast for this coming week, but she was wrongggggggg! We is now expecting anuver huge storm this week which will puts teh orders off again. Pwease lets us know if you would likes to cancel/refund your order, accause we unnerstands this is taking WAY long! But it's like Attie say'd, we wants teh orders to be realleh fresh when they gets to you, so if we makes them this week and then can not gets to teh post office right away they may be stale by the time they finally arrives at their destinations, on account of we uses no preservatees and some areas takes more than a week to mails to.

More. Snow.

I has to say a public sorreh to those of you who has pending Nom Shop orders. We is behind on a few, because of teh weather. Every time we goes to start teh orders, anuver storm comes and makes it impossible for my mommeh to get to teh store for 'gredients or teh post office, etc. We does not wants to makes your orders and then not be able to mails them out straight away, cause we wants them to be fresh-fresh-fresh when they gets to where they is going. So please bear wif us on this a little longer. I does not sees any snow in teh forecast for next week!

Home Renovation Kittehs

Was you wunnering what happened to us? Heehee, we has been super busy! After we gotted dig'd out of all the whitey (which only came'd to a foot, fank goodness, not the anticipated 20 inches!) my mommeh decided it was time to start whipping this apartment into shape. We has been here since September and it still looks and feels like a dorm room, and being stuck inside because of the snows she hadded a lot of time to stare at the blank walls in here and get dissatisfied. So me and BA saddled up and has been playing the roles of home renovation kittehs! We snoopervised the hanging of plates, photographs, and mirrors. We halped my mommeh paint the kitchen, hallways, moldings, doors, and the litterbox room. I do not know what she would have done wifout us running underneaf teh dropcloth and moving it all around so she could spills paint freely on teh hallway carpet! I wish'd we had thoughted to take before/after pikshers, but ah well. The bafroom was aqua wif peeling grey ceiling and grey radiator - it is now a warm tan, including teh radiator, wif a smooth cream colored ceiling. The kitchen and hall were a very scratched up white, wif all old darrrrrrrrk brown doors and moldings and more grey radiator. Now everyfing is a beautyful french vanilla color, wif white doors and moldings! There is just a few fings we has to touch up this week, then all the painting will be done. Yay! Then we gets a china cabinet for the kitchen, a runner to cover the painty spots on the hallway carpet, and ta-da, upgrade complete! Still some fings to do in the living room but those has to wait, cause my mommeh says this stuff costs green papers. *grumble, grumble* Always going on about teh green papers. Anyways, we wanted to show pikshers of us wif painties on us, but my mommeh grabbed us and make'd us wash it off right away cause she was worried it might not be safe for kittehs to go around covered in painties. I hadded a white ear and tail, and Audrey had french vanilla whiskies!!! But my mommeh said since we was such a big halp, we gets a reward, and we can start perusing teh innernets and picking out what heated bed we wants!!!

Yis, dis is mine crabilated face! You doesn't sees it often, but you can tells by mine furrowed eyebrows that somefing is amiss. Uh-huh, the house panfer is on the prowl. Oh, WHY, you asks? Well I'll tells you. Tonight into tomorrow afternoon we expekting up to 20" of the whitey here. Now, while you knows I enjoyed mine verreh first glimpse of this soft fluffy ~~fenom~~... ~~fenomin~~... crazy natural occurrence, I knows it's hard on my mommeh. We lives in a place that really doesn't get plowed and she just isn't any good wif a shovel. So this means she is off to stay at Mama's til the snowies is over, because there is family nearby there wif a snowblowy who can halps her dig out to get to The Work Place. In turn, this ALSO means me and Attie is on our own for the next couple of days. *Sigh.* I adores mine big sis-ter, but as a baby ladycat I just has too much energies and I drives Attie totally crazypants if our mommeh has not wear'd me out a little bit by night. Oh wells. Nuffing I can do but chew on Attie's ears and try to wait it out! We has lots of food, our automatic water thinger, blankies, toys, and clean warm spots to sleep so it can't be TOO bad.

Come on, little Audrey. It is okay. Gets unner the blankie wif me and snuggle up. Mommeh will be home soon enuff and we can watch the whitey fall at the windows togever tonight.

Schmarshmallow Stove

Oh. My. Cod. Would you just look at this mess?!

This is what happens when your mommeh is halping you make shmarshmallows and she starts washing dishes instead of watching the pots of boiling sugars.

Yes. Two pots, two burners, two boiled-over disasters.

About a quarter inch thick.

And look what happened to this poor burner, it is so clogged up wif burnted sugars that it won't even turn on.

So let the cleaning begin. First we scraped off as much as we could wif a spoon. The sugar around that top burner was burnted brown and rock-hard.

Euwwwww...

Then we spented two hours boiling up waters, carefully pouring it over the yuck, allowing it to melt what it could, then mopping it up, and repeating that process. Finally we gotted it as clean as possible.

Then my mommeh wented to Walmart and gotted these thingies, for only $1.97 each. They obviously will not fix the problem if it ever happens again, but I finks it will halp a little. At least it is removable and can be dropped in teh sink to soak.

Yes, mommeh, this definitely looks better. Unfortunately that blackened front burner may be lost. We tried our bestest to get it all scraped out, but it must be verreh clogged inside. And now it looks so icky, but it just will not come any cleaner, so I am trying to talk my mommeh into buying burner covers... wif kittehs on them!

We buy'd a new memory card but has not even take'd any pikshers yet! My mommeh gotted home just fine after all the whitey, and we hadded warm snugglies all togever. AND. This morning Audrey broughted the Twinkle Mouse into my mommeh's shower. Yup. My mommeh hadded her orbs closed, rinsing under teh waters, and she opened them up and screamed to see a black thing suddenly in the tub wif her, but it was just BA, wif teh Twinkle Mouse. Think she wants some attention??? Kittens. Desperate.

And that is no joke mine furrends. We hear'd from the weather guys that we was going to have a big blast of the whitey, but I has to say, we realleh did not takes those weather guys seriously. Seems like they is always in a panic about some horrible weathers coming our way, but whatever they is freaking out about never comes, so we thoughted okay maybe just a little snows will come, if any, and we wented along our merry way. Well. Let me tells you. We ended up wif almost two feets of the whitey here on Long Island! Some of you guys may be a little bit used to that, but it is verreh rare to gets that much of it here. And it was a little bit scary because there was lightning wif this snow storm, which we has never see'd before. Means it was a real blizzard! Everyfing is closed, roads is not plowed, beans is running around wif shovels like maniacs trying to make a dent but not getting too far as I can sees. AND!!! Me and BA is alone in the apartment! (Yes, we figured out how to turn on the computer, we is sneakish, MOL.) My mommeh wented to Mama's house when the whitey started coming down realleh bad, on account of she is 92 and needs the halp. She setted us up wif foods, water, toys, blankies, and lefted the heats up nice and warm, and off she wented. We thought she was coming back yesterday, but she gotted realleh stucks and we has not see'd her again yet, but she did call and yell through the answering machine so we would know what was up. We misses her but we is okay here, watching the proceedings through the window. Mommeh is luckeh, she has a nice furrend who lives nearby who came to shovel out the apartment while she was stuck at Mama's, and cousins who came'd wif a snowblowy to halp her do Mama's house. You know, it is BA's first winter, and that was the verreh first time she had see'd the whitey fall down! She was fascinated, following all the swirling flakes wif her eyes. I could not gets her away from the window for hours. Kittens. Anyways, I wanted to show you some pikshers of her watching the snows and of the insanity here, but our memory card gotted stole'd right before Catmas. We is all upset cause there was hundreds of pikshers of us on there, and stuff we had not gotted to put on the bloggie yet, but if a stole'd memory card is our biggest prollem we should be fankful. We will gets a new one soon when the roads are cleared and the stores is open again. Until then, let me just say it looks a little somefing like this around here:

Culinary Thursday: Red Velvet Truffles. (AND catmas cards, AND a love letter, AND a guest!!!)

So much to talks about today, but I fink we should begin wif these wunnerfully yummeh treats seeing as how it's Culinary Thursday. For hollyday gifties, me and my mommeh make'd red velvet truffles, and we wants to show you how you can does it too! If you is a fan of red velvet cake, hang on to your patootie.

First you has to makes a red velvet cake. You can does yours from scratch or from a box. For this recipe, it does not matter. I will tells you, however, that from a box is going to make this wayyyyy easier. Red velvet cake is kinda a pain in the tuck-us to makes yourself.

No matter which way you decides to makes your cake, do remember to gets a good lick of the batter.

Bakes it in a 13x9 pan, according to the directions on the box or your recipe. You wants to undercook it juuuuust a little bit. So that when you inserts a test object...

It comes out like this, wif some smush on it, instead of clean as you would usually wants for a cake.

When the cake is COMPLETELY cooled (we even letted ours sit overnight), crumble it up into a big bowl, and add one can of cream cheese frosting. Do not bother trying to makes that yourself, it would just be tortures at that point, MOL. So we forgotted to take a piksher of the crumbly cake and the frosting, but that's what you does, and then mix it up wif a big wooden spoon til you has a stiff paste, like you sees above.

Scoop some of the paste wif a spoon into the palm of your hand, and rolls into little balls, about 1 inch big. Now let me warns you, this makes a looooooot of truffles. We is showing you just some of ours, but we gotted about 125 truffles out of it.

Once you has your little ballies all rolled, you should melt your coatings. We wanted to do white, like a real red velvet cake would look wif its cream cheese icing, so we used almond bark for the white. If you does not know what almond bark is, that's it in the piksher above. It resembles white chocolate but is much easier to work wif. You can melts it in a bowl in the microwave in under one minute, bam, easy.

Drop a ballie into the almond bark. Use a spoon to get it all coated.

Shake off as much excess coating as you can, and drop it onto a cookie sheet lined wif wax paper. That's it! You has a truffle! Woohoo! Didn't know it was so easy, didja?

We wanted to do half our truffles in dark chocolate, so we melted some in a bowl over boiling waters on the stove. Tip: Add a touch of vegetable oil to your chocolate to make it easy to work wif. Coat the ballie in the same way and then drop onto another wax paper lined tray.

See? Chocolate truffles too! And they looks cute already. Now to decorate. You can decorates any way you wants to, but we likes to keep it simple and pretteh.

Use a fork to dip into your coating, and swizzle opposite colors all over the truffles.

Just keep dipping the fork and moving it back and forth over the truffles til you has the look you likes.

You can leaves them out to set, or put the trays in the fridge which will be faster. When they is done, place in candy cups (found at crafting stores like Michael's) and ta-daaaa! Ultra cute, ultra sweet little treats.

You can package them up in little boxes, which has a verreh nice effect.

And wrap them up pretteh for furrends and fambly!

Now on to Catmas cards! We gotten even MORE cards from our furrends after these pikshers was taken, so we will try to get shots of those too for anuvver post, but look at what came! A card from Sweet Praline, one from the House of Cats, and anuvver from the Island Cats!!! We hadded such a good time sniffing and reading our cards, fanks guys!!!

Here comes the romantical part. I could not believes my surprise yesterday, when my mommeh broughted home the mails! I gotted TWO things from mine Lolo!!! On his birfday, MOL, how fitting. First was a post card his mommeh had gotted in London. It was of this verreh famous big kitteh statue:

Does anybuddy know him? Mine Lolo is so funneh, he said he think'd I would like to see a mancat who was older than him!!! MOL!!! Poor Lolo, you is not old, you is mature. Like fine cheese, better wif age. .....Mmm, cheese.

And then looks what else I gotted from him! A wunnerful card, specially make'd just for ME!!! Oh just look at all the pikshers of mine mancat. *Sigh.* Isn't he just so verreh dreamy? And can you sees what it says on there? "Attie, all I do is think of YOU. Love, Lautrec." He even putted it in a PINK envelope, because he knows my verreh favorite color is pink. He is too romantical, I can not stands it!

Look, he even has such a cute signature. Can you see how the two o's and the lower-case L makes a kitteh face??? So creative, he sends me into a swoon.

We just opened it up a couple of days ago, and it is totally nip-tastic. Even Audrey wants to share it wif me, and she is usually not so much into the nip.

Toy Review: Play-N-Squeak At Night Twinkle Mouse!!!

Oh. My. Cod. Okay so this verreh nice lady named Abby sented us a Twinkle Mouse to try out, and I can not even tells you how much we loves him!!! Play-N-Squeak has came'd up wif a new line of kitteh toys for night-time, because you all know how much we enjoys keeping our mommehs awake at night. Well we fink it is just genius. This mousie is the bestest mousie we has ever had. Audrey loves almost all toys to begin wif, but I can says that I am not realleh much of a toy kitteh. Yes I has my favorite grey fuzzy mousie for fetch, but other than that I is pretty picky about what I plays wif. More often than not it is just Audrey's ear. And a lot of the time if a toy squeaks it is a turnoff for me. But I did not want to put this little dude down! Somefing about that mesmerizing blue twinkle, just like mine Lolo's eyes...

As you can sees, we was excited about our Twinkle Mousie even before he gotted out of the package.

Oooooh, mommeh, what IS that?!

Takes it out, mommeh, I has to carry him around right away!

Oh yes, pwease takes him out of here mommeh! I wants to pway wif him too!

As you can sees, I gotted verreh protective of him right away. I carried him all around and cried about it. I adore his intriguing blue twinkles and his essiting squeaky noises! (I also cried when he stopped twinkling and squeaking, MOL, I could not halps myself, sometimes I just gets a little bit overcome.)

I realleh did not want Audrey to takes him away from me, and I cried about that too.

To sums it up, we L-O-V-E our Twinkle Mousie! We will be asking mommeh to get some more Play-N-Squeak At Night toys and puts them in our stockings for Catmas for sure. Cause you can see here that one is just not enuff.

Culinary Thursday with AttieCattie: Holiday Cheat Fudge!

Yup. I is about to shows you one of mine only cheat recipes. We does not cheat wif cooking often around here, but when we does, we makes sure it is a worth-it cheat - it has to taste good! So this is purrrrrfect for those smaller holiday gifts (teachers, neighbors, etc) or to bring to a pawty. The easiest fudge you will ever makes, and totally customizable. If you follows this SUPER easy recipe, yours will come out way better than ours did here, because we was in a rush this time and did not make the chocolate all the way melty before putting it in the pan to set, or let it cool all the way before cutting it up.

So you begins wif your two ingredients. That's right, count 'em. TWO. One bag of semi-sweet chocolatey chippies, and one can of sweetened condensed milks. See my pathetic face? I am always hoping for more ingredients and a bigger mess.

Put the chocolatey chippies in a pot, and pour the whole can of sweetened condensed milks over it.

Try to get a lick of the sweetened condensed milks if you can, you will not be disappointed!

Line a square baking pan wif tin foil and set it aside at the ready! Um, ignore my mommeh's bottle of Chivas please. She sips while we cook. Holiday lush, MOL.

Put your pot over low heat, stirring verreh frequently, careful not to let any burn to the bottom of the pan or your fudge is ruined.

Now here's the customizable part. If you likes plain chocolate fudge, just pour it right into your foil lined pan and that's that. But if you likes flavors or textures, this is what you do. When your mixture is all smooth and shiny, you can add a couple tablespoons of a favorite liquor and give it a good stir, then pour into your foil lined pan. Or, what we likes even better, is adding stuffs to our fudge. So last night we poured half the mixture into the pan, then sprinkled some white chocolatey chippies all over it...

...then covered it up wif the other half of the mixture. If you uses things like white chocolatey chippies or butterscotchy chippies or peanutbuttery chippies, they melts wif the heat of the mixture and you gets lovely little swirls and chunks in the fudge. Or maybe you wants to add spoonfuls of peanutbutters and swirl through wif a knife, or cashews for a little crunch! They even has peppermint baking chips in stores now for the Catmas season, so if you is looking to get festive you could use those.

Come on mommeh, now that it is all in the pan it is time to put it in the fridge!

Let it set in there for about an hour, covered or uncovered, up to you depending on how you likes the top of your fudge. Covered will keep it a little smoother on top. Uncovered will give you that sort of crackly texture you sees in our piksher.

When it is readeh, lift out the tinfoil and peel down the sides of it, so you sees the fudge is in one big block. (See, the tin foil hadded a point - easy to get the fudge out of the pan, and no cleanup!) Cut into bite-sized squares wif a pizza cutter. Now you can puts them on a platter for a pawty, or in treat bags for gifts. For a festive touch, use red and silver curling ribbon to close treat bags, and ties a candy cane on!

We gotted some more Catmas cards from our furrends, but we has not had time to open them up yet, so for today I will just be sharing wif you two pikshers, one from last night, and one from dawn this morning! These are both fuzzy cell phone pikshers but oh wells, can not wins 'em all.

Pew-pew! Catmas Lazerz!!! MOL, I was akshully trying to be a Catmas light. Last night my mommeh was hanging them up, and they kepted falling down as you can see there, so I was being halpful by making myself a light. Then maybe I could just sits around and glow and she would not has to work so hard standing on chairs trying to prop up the falling lighties. Do you fink it was working? Would I makes a cool Catmas decoration?

And this is what we waked up to at dawn today! The first whitey of the season here on Long Island. What a surprise, we hadded no idea, and when my mommeh gotted up to get readeh for the Work Place, she opened the shades and we all wented *GASP!* It is verreh pretteh, and my mommeh says this is just a nice little bit the of whitey that she does not has to shovel.

Oh and just a couple other things - My wunnerful mancat Lolo will be turning 12 years old on the 22nd, just before Catmas, and his sister Tiny and I are planning the most funnest pawty EVAR, so keep your orbs open for more details to come and makes sure you sets that day aside! Oh and do NOT tell mine Lolo, the pawty is a big surprise!!! Also, I ordered his combo Birfday/Catmas gift today and I am so essited for him to gets it, it should arrive right around pawty time. Weeeee!

I do not know why she likes to sit holding the tv remote like that. We gotted a new tv recently and she's been a little obsessive about it. If she is not holding the remote, she is putting her little feets up to touch the screen. And then she gets the scolding. *snicker*

Well it isn't verreh nice of you to laff at meh when I gets yelled at. I is still just a curious baby girlcat you know. I won't be one year old til February, so I still has time to be a baby!

Okays, okays, sorreh. Sometimes I can not halps it. It is just part of being a sis-ter. Speaking of being sis-ters, does you likes our matching Catmas duds? I am not realleh wearing my sweater here, just sort of snuggling under it, but it looks good in the piksher for our Catmas card. I had this sweater from last year, and since this is Audrey's verreh first Catmas my mommeh gotted her that collar so she would match me.

Culinary Thursday: New Nom Shop Item - Audrey's Kitteh Krak!

Okay, we all know this is MY bloggie, and it is MY Nom Shop, but I did decides to name this one after Audrey accause she goes totally bonkers when we makes this treat. It is like her kitteh krak. Srsly. So anyways, I decided to make this a mix, that you can do yourself at home!

First, you opens up your mix and pours it into a bowl. (Hard to see in these pikshers, but there is green flecks in there... Can you GUESS what that is?!?!) Add one 6oz can of tuna, undrained, and half a cup of waters.

Stir it all up til you has a nice wettish dough. Like so. Mmmm, tuna chunks.

Drop little spoonfulls onto a cookie sheet you has already sprayed wif cooking spray.

Push the tops down a little wif your spoon, so they is a bit flattened.

Bakes for 20min at 350 degrees, and voila! Kitteh krak treats!

Come here, treat! I am going to nom you!

Kitteh treats fit for princesses. Or princes. Whichever you is.

(Extra tip: While still warm and soft, press treats into some extra nip - no kitteh will be able to resist!)

I lied by accident. I did not has time before Turkey Day to gets the new item for the Nom Shop done, but I will be able to this week. Sorreh. But you knowwwwws how distracting turkey is. And relatives. Those is distracting too, but not in the good way like turkey.

On a happeh note, my mommeh has promised me that by the end of this week my Catmas collar and my Catmas sweater will be coming out of the drawer!!! I loves my Catmas stuff, I can not waits! Here is pikshers of me in my sweater and collar from last year:

Woohoo! My Nom Shop is readeh to go! You will see that we is offering just shmarshmallows at the moment, in different combinations, but we will definitely be adding more products verreh soon! (Stay tuned for a Fanksgiving Culinary Thursday post on that.) Anyway these shmarshmallows is nothing to sneeze at, I guarantees you. There is such a difference, having these freshly home-made creamy ones, as opposed to those preservative-chemicalized ones in the bags from the grocery store. In ovver news, the Nom Shop is readeh to go except for pikshers of teh foods. It only letted us upload 5 pikshers, and now we is stuck. She has never wear'd a sweater before, this will be her verreh first winter, and she wants her own wardrobe to be juuuuuust right.
